God’s Love Story Visual Bible (GLSVB) is an illustrated story evangelism and discipleship tool built primarily for use on smart phones and hand held devices although it can also be used on overhead video projectors and TVs. It is built in webisode story format with each story about 5 minutes or less in length. It is intended to reach the masses with the gospel often in places that are very difficult or even impossible for Christian missionaries to access by traditional means. By utilizing the internet and demand for high quality video material on smart phones, GLSVB is taking the gospel into places that are forbidden for traditional mission work.
GLSVB is put together utilizing the chronological story method of Creation to Christ Return. In fact, the first story, S01 God’s Love Story is a Creation to Christ Return and New World story. We tell the whole story right to the end of the Book of Revelation and then fill in the inevitable gaps in the story of the Bible with each subsequent story.
The first phase of the project was completed in 2009 and is made up of 17 stories with the first story telling the whole story of the Bible in about 5 minutes. Each additional story tells a key story in the story line of scripture always remembering to keep Christ as the central focus. Phase 1 is now available in 7 different languages and we are working on others to add. Phase 1 stories were built with evangelism as the aim and Phase 2 stories, yet to be completed, are aimed at crafting discipleship stories. Presently, we have artwork completed through the first story of the Exodus but have much more artwork to go. We have story scripts crafted through the period of the Judges in the Old Testament as well as the Book of Acts story scripts completed.
When a story is crafted, it is first written down creating a script for recording. When the script has been finalized through the editing and revision process, it is then recorded dramatically with native voices in the heart language of the focus people group. Then a story board is conceived for conveying to the artist who then paints the story in pictures. Then the completed audio is then matched with the digitally modified artwork to tell the Biblical story. Of course, once the artwork is completed, it is reused with each additional language added. Then the completed stories are loaded on the web sight www.hikayaat.com (Hikayaat is Arabic for stories) for free distribution and download by non-believers, believers, and missionaries all around the world. There are several organizations that make GLSVB available on their web sights for distribution and use. We encourage this as long as those doing so do not alter the resources in any way without Stories of Life Productions written consent to do so. We also do want to know if you use GLSVB on your web sight although written consent is not required.
We also encourage these stories to be included on SD cards and electronic recording devices for mass distribution. GLSVB stories have been going out this way for several years now. If you want to include this in your distribution we encourage this. Again, please let us know you are doing this so we can keep track and be encouraged that this resource is hitting its intended target.
